About Us

Habitat for Humanity of Springfield, MO works with qualified, low-income families to help them realize the dream of owning their very own home. We believe every person in Springfield and its surrounding areas deserves a decent place to live. As an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, HFHS impacts more than 100 households a year. Since 1988, HFHS has either built or renovated more than 570 homes, providing shelter for more than 1,100 men, women and children from Greene, Christian, and Webster Counties by helping people gain strength, stability and independence through housing, including home construction, rehabilitation and repairs and by increasing access to improved shelter through products and programs. HFHS is a United Way of the Ozarks partner agency.

Every donation will help families break the cycle of poverty and build long-term financial security. With an affordable, stable home, families have more to spend on food, medicine, child care, education and other essentials. Your support can help us do more in all the many ways that Habitat builds.

Volunteer

  • Build Site Volunteers: Construction skills are not a prerequisite. As long as you’re willing to help others, we’ll teach you what you need to know. As a volunteer on the construction site, you might be helping with painting, hanging drywall and insulation, and more. Your task will be determined by the stage of the build.
  • Neighborhood Clean-up Volunteers: During our weekend neighborhood clean-ups, volunteers can expect to help with mowing lawns, raking leaves, trimming bushes, and more.
  • ReStore Volunteers: As a volunteer in the ReStore, you will assist with organizing donations, helping load and unload donations and purchases for customer cars, and writing sales tickets for customers.
